Job Description:

  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specification of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plan production operation, man hours, and establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Review production and operating budgets and assist with the resolution of operational delays due to manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Work with shop supervisors and other manufacturing managers to develop manpower requirements and machine requirements to meet work schedules.
  • Conduct a weekly supervisor meeting to go over production schedules and expected completion dates.
  • Support and manage improvement initiatives in the manufacturing areas to include lean manufacturing initiatives, 5-S, and quality improvement programs.
  • Must follow and actively support all company policies and rules to include a primary emphasis on safe operations.
  • Make recommendations to management on efficiency improvements related to the manufacturing process.
  • Attend work order and sales order meetings as needed.
  • Conduct time studies and gather data for operational efficiency issues.
  • Prepare reports on manufacturing efficiency issues.
  • Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar degree related to production/manufacturing planning preferred.
  • Ability to work well as a team player with all levels of employees required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required, to include ability to chair meetings, make presentations, and conduct training classes.
  • Ability to write reports, memos, business correspondence, and procedure manuals required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and process manuals required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Production Manager in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member.
